History
FlossPin® (i.e. Fuzz Buttons) were first introduced to the electronics marketplace in 1959 and were mainly used in grounding applications.
Soon the military sector took notice and began to utilize them in shock-resistant PCB connectors for missile and satellites.
Today FlossPin® (i.e. Fuzz Buttons) still serve the military and commercial markets in many surprising applications. You will find them in missiles, satellites, space probes, aircraft, test floors, laboratories, radar arrays, antennas, supercomputers, crash test dummies, automotive production, communications and even packaged inside high-end RF products such as attenuators and amplifiers. Because they are so versatile, FlossPin® (i.e. Fuzz Buttons) can be used for DC, VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X, Ku, Ka and Q Bands.

The basic Floss Pin® contact configuration consists of a contact installed into a customized plastic insulator with hole design。 Once in place, the contact extends on both sides of the insulator。

Floss Pin® is easily installed in two basic steps, without soldering。
First, using alignment features, the Floss Pin® interconnect is positioned between two components with matching connection footprints。
Next, the two components are compressed and fastened together。
Its as simple as that。

Contact Only 仅接触件
This Floss Pin® basic configuration provides multiple points of contact and mechanical wipe. Ideally suited for applications requiring high speed, low profile, and high density, this configuration is commonly used in LGA sockets.

Plunger-Contact 塞针--接触件
The addition of a gold-plated brass plunger increases the handling durability of the Floss Pin® contacts and provides additional height. This configuration is ideally suited for board-to-board and test applications.

Adding a second plunger to the connector results in a tall system (up to 1.0"), along with it being the most durable in terms of handling. This configuration is best suited for contacts that see excessive handling from both sides. Commonly used for parallel board-to-board stacking connector applications.

Using two contacts with a gold-plated brass spacer in between creates a connector with all the benefits of the contact-only style, and the ability to span greater z-axis heights (up to 1.0"). This configuration is most often used when multiple points of contact are needed in a tall connector.
