RF coaxial connector material:
      Because of the coaxial structure, most of the parts of the coaxial connector are rotary bodies, so the manufacturing of the parts of the coaxial connector is mainly machining (especially machining). In order to improve the cutting performance, the copper alloy containing lead is often used for the parts of coaxial connector, -- lead makes the copper alloy brittle and easier to cut. In the copper alloy gold medal numbers of the United States and Japan, the lead brass (such as c36000, c34500, c35300; c3601, C3602, c3603, c3604, c3605 - lead content exceeding the requirements of the European Union is rarely used), while the phosphorus bronze is c53400, c53800, C54440, c17300 is used for beryllium copper, but C17200 is used less (without lead) -- (the cutting lead copper bar is in Item 6 of RoHS exemption regulations). Of course, the addition of lead will also affect the mechanical properties of copper alloy, The material plasticity is reduced and the difficulty of machining hardening is increased. Therefore, the material with too high lead content should not be selected when there are certain requirements for the product plasticity. The stainless steel uses sus30300 (compared with other stainless steel, sus30300 adds sulfur and increases carbon content to improve its cuttability)
       When the electromagnetic wave propagates in the coaxial transmission line, it is only distributed between the inner surface of the outer conductor and the outer surface of the inner conductor, that is to say, the electromagnetic wave propagates completely in the space medium between the metals, so the selection of the insulating material of the coaxial connector has a great influence on its transmission performance, even decisive
       Commonly used insulator materials are:,
      PTFE is a kind of fluorine resin, which has good anti-corrosion ability and cutting performance, excellent thermal stability and flame retardancy, anti-static, good lubricity, good electrical performance and insulation performance in a wide range of temperature and frequency. Another outstanding feature is that PTFE has small elastic modulus, so it is easy to change, good elasticity, and is very suitable for the insulator of coaxial connector; After melting, the viscosity of PTFE is very high, which is not suitable for injection molding, and it is usually molded at room temperature;
      PE is a kind of polyolefin series plastics. It has low density, good insulation and is suitable for RF applications. It has high water dispersion resistance, low water absorption and chemical inertia (except for some acids). Therefore, its mechanical properties will not be affected when it is used in some harsh environments. In addition, it has good processing performance, it will decompose in different degrees in halogenated hydrocarbon, and it will cause a certain degree of discoloration in long-term outdoor storage. The disadvantage of PE is its low melting point, when it burns, it will produce harmful substances.
PFA --- PFA is a kind of material similar to PTFE, but also similar to FEP (polypropylene). The main difference between the three materials is their elastic coefficient and minimum temperature. PFA has low elastic coefficient and high temperature range. Compared with FEP, PFA has thermoplastic properties and can be used in casting mould. Moreover, it can be poured and welded repeatedly. It has good thermal stability and good electrical transmission performance at - 200 ° C - 250 ° C. compared with PTFE, it has better wear resistance and anti adhesion performance. PFA is inert to most elements, and climate and air have little influence on it. PFA application: insulator, cable sheath.
       Peek ---- peek is a kind of locally crystallized material, which has high tensile strength, good thermal stability, high melting point (334 ° C) and good chemical inertness (except sulfuric acid). In addition, it has strong corrosion resistance and can withstand radioactive pollution. Peek crystal structure makes it also suitable for hot injection molding. Peek has good conductivity, high strength and less than 30% of aluminum in weight. Therefore, it is a suitable isolation material. The combustion of PEEK does not produce smoke.
      PPO -- polyphenyloxy (PPO) is a kind of amorphous thermoplastic material, which is not easy to hydrolyze in the purification agent, acid and alkali at high temperature, but PPO will react with ketone, chloride and aromatic hydrocarbon. Compared with PEEK, PPO has better thermal stability and lower temperature resistance. Compared with PC (polycarbonate), it has the same strength and high dimensional stability at high temperature. In addition, PPO is also suitable for field use. The sealing ring of coaxial connector is usually made of silicone rubber, which is soft and elastic. The purpose of rubber gasket is to prevent moisture and other pollution. It only reacts with acid substances. Sometimes, silicone rubber is used for the purpose of flame retardant.
